This handbook is a workbook developed for planners, engineers and managers involved with labor-based roadworks programs, whether in Indonesia or elsewhere. It may also be of interest to engineering or infrastructure development students who would like to find out more about the detailed planning and implementation of labor-based roadworks. Every project has its own unique features and requires particular problems to be identified and tacked in an appropriate way. In many cases the methods and procedures developed by a project are lost when personnel move on and this important experience is not documented. It is with these factors in mind that it was decided to document the particular standards, designs, methods and procedures of the Flores Road Project in this workbook.
