AERODYNAMIC STABILITY OF THE GIRDER BRIDGES ARRANGED IN PARALLEL STATE (HIGASHINADA - ASHIYA LINE ACCESS BRIDGE)
Tests on the aerodynamic stability of a new bridge to be built near an existing highway bridge are described in this paper. The projected Higashinada-Ashiya bridge is to be built at the mouth of the Ashiya River, Kobe, Japan. Because of its proximity to another structure, complicated aerodynamic phenomena were expected to occur. Aerodynamic stability was researched using a wind tunnel test utilizing 1/100 scale models.
