ENTWICKLUNG VON VERFAHREN ZUR GROSS RAUMIGEN PROGNOSE DER VERKEHRSENTWICKLUNG UND FOLGERUNGEN FUR DEN DATENAUSTAUSCH VON VERKEHRSRECHNERZENTRALEN [DEVELOPMENT OF PROCEDURES FOR LARGE SCALE TRAFFIC FORECASTING AND THE CONSEQUENCES FOR THE EXCHANGE OF DATA BETWEEN TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTERS]

The focus of this research project was to develop a process for projections of traffic demand for short term and medium term, and to test these with the aid of empirical investigations. The approaches used in existing models were first analyzed in terms of their appropriateness for the task. A forecasting process was then developed that combined the approaches of a number of these models. This new model was then programmed, aligned, calibrated, and evaluated. The forecasting results can be applied to large-area journey information and destination guidance systems. IN GERMAN WITH SUMMARY IN ENGLISH
