METROLOGIE DES DEPLACEMENTS PAR GPS EN MILIEU URBAIN DENSE [THE MEASUREMENT OF MOVEMENTS BY THE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM IN DENSE URBAN AREAS]

The purpose of this research was to quantify the precision of positioning vehicles in dense urban localities. Tests were carried out on four systems incorporating Global Positioning System (GPS) or Differential GPS, in combination or not with estimative systems, in three phases. A specific methodology was developed. Results show that at the present time and with the systems offered by manufactured no equipment yet meets all the requirements of urban engineers.
