GROSSVERSUCH "LEIT-UND INFORMATIONSSYSTEM BERLIN" (LARGE SCALE TEST OF THE "BERLIN ROUTE GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEM")

Authors describe the development of the "Navigation and Information System Berlin (LISB)." This system, scheduled to begin a one year test in 1988, will provide driver information to vehicles through information transmitting "beacons" installed at key intersections and freeway segments. The "Navigation and Information System Berlin" will provide valuable data on the actual value of these types of information systems, and some idea of the state of the component technology.
