NEW FOAMING AGENT FOR CLSM APPLICATIONS
In this article, information on a new foaming agent and foaming process that can be used in the production of both Reg-CLSM and LD-CLSM mixtures has been presented. The foaming agent is an aqueous mixture of foaming and strength-enhancing components. The foaming process requires the use of a relatively simple portable foam generator and pressurized water from either the water mains or the tank on a ready mix truck. This process has been referred to as the "pressurized water preformed foam" system to differentiate it from other preformed foam systems that use compressed air, which have been referred to as "compressed air preformed foam" systems. Because of the simplicity of the "pressurized water preformed foam" system, CLSM mixtures can be produced by ready mix concrete producers, either at the batch plant or on the jobsite.
