NEXT GENERATION OF GEARED BULKERS UNVEILED

The second of eight 28,000dwt multipurpose cargo vessels of the Fantasy class designed by the UK company GTR Campbell has been completed by the Dalian Shipyard, China and has entered service with Clipper Frontier Shipping Co of Nassau. The vessel class was designed to fill a need for a cargo vessel capable of entering secondary ports where water depth is limited, and where cargo handling facilities are basic or non-existent. The resulting vessel is an open, multipurpose geared dry cargo, container and self- trimming dry bulk carrier. A general arrangement drawing of the vessel is included in the article.
