A TWO-STAGE PLANNING METHOD FOR THE ROUTES OF MASS RAPID RAIL TRANSIT SYSTEMS
A method for the planning of mass rail transit (MRT) is disussed in this paper, which includes two stages: the optimization of affected districts and rational pedestrian districts. The method lays routes in traffic adjacent networks instead of in road networks. A mathematical model for the design of MRT routes is studied as well as the searching algorithm for MRT routes. Finally, the application of the method to the light rail route planning of Anshan city is introduced.
