A COMPLETELY NEW FAIL-SAFE CONVENTIONAL HULL DESIGN FOR A PASSENGER/CAR FERRY
In view of the currently discussed safety aspects of ferries this paper gives the results of a study which was conducted by a shipyard for a better understanding of the relevant physics and to assess the efficiency of various options. The basis of the study is a comparison of a typical conventional ferry with a ferry which is characterized by an unconventional hull form and an unusual arrangement of rooms.
