CHARACTERISTICS OF CONVICTED DRINKING DRIVERS WHO ATTENDED THE MISSISSIPPI ALCOHOL SAFETY EDUCATION PROGRAM, 1992-1994: A STATISTICAL SUMMARY

This report presents statistics on the characteristics of persons who attended the Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program (MASEP) between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 1994. It is intended primarily as a reference document for persons interested in the characteristics of convicted first-time DUI (driving under the influence) offenders. Detailed tables are presented showing the numbers of persons who attended MASEP during the three year period, broken down by: (1) sociodemographic characteristics (age, race, gender, marital status, and education); (2) special populations (housewives, students, retired persons, disabled persons, and persons in the military); (3) smoking status; (4) blood alcohol concentration (BAC); (5) scores on the MASEP drinker assessment form; and (6) MASEP school.
