DEVELOPMENT OF HULL OSCILLATION SIMULATOR

Theoretical analysis of the force produced by the splashing motion of a liquid in tanks is extremely difficult but since such a sloshing often damages hull members, several types of apparatus have been already devised whereby lapping or sloshing motion can be reproduced. This paper concerns the invention of such an apparatus which has shown its effectiveness in the range of liquid motion analysis, in the extent of accuracy and in the degree of automation. This latest device may be of service not only in the analysis of sloshing but also in the simulation of hull oscillation for analytical purposes.
