HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE: PLANNING FOR DWELLINGS, ENERGY AND SERVICE CONSIDERING TRANSPORTATION AND EMISSION CONTROL

BEBYGGELSE OCH INFRASTRUKTUR: PLANERING AV BOSTAEDER, ENERGI OCH SERVICE MED HAENSYN TILL TRANSPORTER OCH MILJOE

This report, divided into three separate parts, is about a model developed during 1988-1991 (URELOC) to focus on various aspects such as environment, energy and economy, when a physical general plan is made. URELOC is an abbreviation for URban, Element LOCation i.e. it performs location of urban elements such as housing, considering environment, energy and economy as location criteria. In the first project the URELOC model will be connected to a model for optimization of the energy system. By doing this it should be possible to simultaneously develop the most favourable combination of energy system and housing location. The second project is a development of the URELOC model to include location of service functions with the location of dwellings. A specific emphasis is on the transportation factor i.e. the service trips between dwelling and service. The last project of the study is directed towards the idea that the URELOC model should form part of a practical planning process. The study here investigates a complete process of developing physical plans with the aid of standard PC tools which are to be found on the market.
