A FAST METHOD OF EVALUATION FOR THE TRANSLATING AND PULSATING GREEN'S FUNCTION
The computation of the unsteady (harmonic) Green's function with forward speed involves numerical difficulties and requires a high computational time. A new fast and precise method of calculation is presented, valid regardless of the values for frequency and forward speed. The integrations over the complex exponential integral use a Runge-Kutta fourth order scheme with a stepsize control. Calculations are compared with other methods, and the linearized free surface boundary condition is satisfied with good accuracy. Examples of free surface elevations above a submerged pulsating and translating source are presented.
