SEAKEEPING ASSESSMENT OF A DISPLACEMENT TYPE SUPER HIGH SPEED SHIP IN DIRECTIONAL SPECTRUM WAVES
Assessment of the seakeeping qualities of a recently proposed displacement-type monohull super high speed (50-kts) container ships in the Pacific Ocean routes is carried out by calculations based on the strip method. From the many items relating to seakeeping criteria, vertical acceleration at the bow was chosen for assessment and investigation with regard to the operability of the ship. The importance of directional spreading of irregular waves based on recent research is considered.
