SEA TRIALS OF SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTRO MAGNETO-HYDRODYNAMIC PROPULSION SHIP, YAMATO 1
Sea trials of YAMATO 1 the world's first prototype experimental ship with superconducting magneto-hydrodynamic propulsion were carried out in 1992 and the performance was proven to be as designed. This report shows the comparison of the results of the sea trials with the calculation by the estimation method for propulsive performance which was developed through the research and development project for YAMATO 1 and evaluates the calculation method.
