TELEMETRY SYSTEM OF A REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLE

The data content, speed and response of a ROV (remotely operated vehicle) telemetry system is given in this paper. In addition to half duplex and timing, 8 and 12 bit analog digital converting is discussed. A telemetry system, using a twist pair to exchange surface and underwater control information and reducing cable diameter, decreases the drag of cable resistance in water and improves the manoeuvrability of the ROV.
