RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF SHIP STRUCTURAL RESPONSE

The reliability problem of ship structures has been studied, from point of view of full probabilistic methods. The time dependence of the structural capability has been pointed out and a simple model has been introduced for its study. A formulation has been proposed for the evaluation of the failure probability, utilising the time dependent Poisson distribution in the study of the long-term ship's structural response.
