DIRECT DESIGN SYSTEM OF SHIP STRUCTURES DDSSS-1

The fundamental theory and implementation of reliability-based direct design system of ship structures (DDSSS) are briefly described in this paper. The characteristics and capability of program modules of DDSSS-1 package are presented. The structural design of a 63,000t tanker has been taken as an example to verify the validity of this design system.
