CHOOSING ACCELEROMETERS FOR MACHINERY HEALTH MONITORING
The design and operating characteristics of accelerometers suitable for machinery vibration monitoring are reviewed. Performance specifications that should be considered for this application include: axial sensitivity, frequency range, mechanical enclosure, transverse sensitivity, temperature transient sensitivity and pre-amplifier requirements. Applicable standards are reviewed as well.
