THE PAP MARK 5 OPTICAL FIBRE LINK: A NEW APPROACH
The PAP 104 system is a remote controlled mine disposal weapon system. Its concept is based on the utilisation of an unmanned, submersible , remotely operated vehicle to dispose of underwater mines which have been previously detected by other means. It has been in service since 1972, and operates from 76 Mine Counter Measures Vessels in 11 different Navies. More than 300 vehicles are in service today.
