OPTIMISED STRUCTURAL RELIABILITY ANALYSIS USING INERTIAL PIG DATA

A database management, graphic display and structural reliability analysis system (SRAS) has been developed which evaluates the integrity of pipelines from inertial pig data or other deformation monitoring data and provides predictive maintenance capabilities. The SRAS uses an optimised approach for identifying and analysing existing pipeline reliability as well as predicting potential problem areas along the total length of a pipeline before they occur. The SRAS processes information using a hybrid system composed of a structural non-linear finite element modelling system and a stochastic reliability assessment/prediction system.
