A STUDY OF A SHIP'S BREADTH EFFECT ON MANOEUVRING HYDRODYNAMIC DERIVATIVES IN SHALLOW WATER
The author proposes a method of predicting ship breadth effect on the ratio of derivatives in shallow water and in deep water. To express the thickness effect, the sources are distributed over the lifting surface of infinite images with respect to free surface and the water bottom. The source distribution method is close to experimental results, the derivatives ratio is inversely proportional to the length-breadth ratio.
