INFLUENCE OF PRINCIPAL PARTICULARS OF SHIPS ON VISCOUS FLOW

Mathematical ship models have been used to investigate the influence of the principal particulars of ships on viscous flow and resistance. Wake distribution, viscous resistance, and frictional resistance obtained from boundary layer calculations and experimental results are given for a parent model and models of different proportions derived from it. Comparisons are made between the calculated and empirical values.
