SURVEY AND CERTIFICATION OF OFFSHORE UNITS AND STRUCTURES BY LLOYD'S REGISTER OF SHIPPING

The types of offshore structure in use are reviewed, and the functions of the Classification Society in classifying and certifying such structures in accordance with the Society's own Rules and Regulations and various national requirements are described. Surveys are performed on offshore structures during construction, and the aspects covered are discussed; finally the author deals with field surveys and re-certification of offshore installations in cases where national regulations require them to have a valid Certificate of Fitness.
