ON-STREET AND OFF-STREET PARKING COST STUDY
The purpose of this study is to examine the economic costs of providing on-street versus off-street parking for traffic on Metropolitan Toronto arterial roads. To do so, it was necessary to develop two types of information: (1) the economic costs, including increased travel times and other costs, imposed on traffic by vehicles parked on the road, and (2) identify the most promising location for additional off-street parking adjacent to the arterial road to replace on-street parking that is to be removed, and the approximate annualcost per space to provide such off-street parking.
