SPEED, SPEED LIMITS AND ACCIDENTS
This paper reviews the available research evidence for the effect of speed and speed limits on road accidents. It is structured to reflect the evidence currently available on: (i) the effect of speed limits on mean traffic speeds and proportion of speeding drivers; (ii) the effect of speed limits on accidents; and (iii) the relationship between speed and accident risk.
