THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A TWENTY-INCH DREDGE IN THIN LAYER DISPOSAL
The process of achieving a thin-layer disposal of dredged material in the Fowl River, a coastal stream in Mobile Bay, Alabama, is described. The disposal process required dispersal of the Bay Channel material over a large open water surface. The specifications of a cutterhead dredge used in this operation are presented and the actual disposal methodology is described in some detail.
