PROPELLERS WITH RESTRICTED DIAMETER: DESIGN PRINCIPLES, EFFICIENCY AND CAVITATION PROPERTIES

Model tests to investigate the effects of reduced propeller diameter on propulsive efficiency and cavitation properties were carried out at the Swedish Maritime Research Centre (SSPA). Tests included open water tests, self-propulsion tests, and cavitation tests. Results are analyzed and discussed for the cases of a tanker and a ro/ro vessel.
