THE NONLINEAR HILBERT TRANSFORM TECHNIQUE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF BRIDGE DECKS
The paper aims to present a diagnostic method, based on time domain Hilbert transform properties, which allow for the identification of the dynamic behaviour of slightly nonlinear and nonconservative structures. The general formulation is described in the case study of a simply supported bridge deck, the Carpineta viaduct on the A3 highway in Southern Italy which is taken as a representative sample of a wide class of Italian highway bridge structure.
