LIGHTS. CAMERA. ACTION. THE MAKING OF DDC VIDEOS
The article describes the making of the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course videos. The films, that are made every two years so that students will not see dated programs, start when solicitation is made for bids from production companies. The details are described of 'The Numbers Man,' the first of four new DDC videos. It shows how drivers can reduce their odds of involvement in serious accidents. 'The Hard Way,' 'Just the Ticket,' and 'The Uncontrollables' are also discussed. The need for technical correctness in such video making is discussed, as well as the costs of video making.
