INFLUENCE OF THE LOADING HISTORY ON STRESS AND STRAIN CHANGES IN REINFORCED AND PRESTRESSED CONCRETE ELEMENTS PASSING FROM UNCRACKED TO CRACKED STATE

Stress and strain analysis in the sections of reinforced and prestressed concrete members in the serviceability limit states cannot be correctly carried out without considering the loading history. Modern methods of algebraic analysis of the influences of the rheological characteristics of concrete and prestressing steel on the real behaviour of the members make such an analysis possible. The article presents an algorithm which enables a simple computation of the stress and strain changes in the reinforced and partially prestressed concrete members, passing from an uncracked to a cracked state. The algorithm includes decompression of the whole concrete part of the section at the computation transition state. (TRRL)
