BRINGING QUALITY BACK TO COMMERCIAL AIR TRAVEL
The problem of the lack of consensus among users and providers of air transport as to what quality means in the airline industry is discussed in this article. The issue is discussed from the standpoint of the carrier, the passenger, and the government. Each group has different, and sometimes diametrically opposed, ideas about what that quality means. The perceptual differences in defining quality from each point-of-view is discussed with some suggestions offered for imbuing the airline industry with a commitment to excellence.
