ASSESSMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE OF A VIBRATING COMPACTOR
ESTIMATION DES PERFORMANCES D'UN COMPACTEUR VIBRANT
Attention is drawn to the fact that vibratory compaction is a technique which offers considerable possibilities but because of its success, it has been too hastily industrialised. It appears that the laws governing static compaction cannot be applied to vibratory compaction if grave errors are to be avoided. A study is made of the operation of a vibrating roller, vibratory wave propagation, and the significant parameters of vibrating rollers are discussed: geometric parameters, weight and dynamic parameters (amplitude, frequency, miximum centrifugal force). /TRRL/
