LARGE SCALE USE OF PREFABRICATED ELEMENTS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGES ON THE BELGRADE-NIS MOTORWAY, SECTION POJATE-DELIGRAD

In the paper the design process which develops from an idea to the successful realization of projects and structures has been briefly presented. 13 bridges were constructed in total with 6 of them as double structures over a length of 1472 metres. The longest is 265 metres long and the width of bridges follow the pavement width and ranges from 11.35 to 13.35 metres. The bridges have been constructed at the most difficult part of the alignment in such a way that longer bridges have been constructed in circular and transition curves with different gradients. Prefabricated concrete beams with 25 metre spans and unified medium beams have been used while the bridge deck has been cast in situ. In the calculation of static loads, the longitudinal girders have been considered with respect to their proper weight as a statically determined line system. The system has been considered as a beam-and-stringer grid for a live load. The construction was efficiently completed in a year. (TRRL)
