ADAPTATION OP RURAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT WITH THE STANDARD BUS TO USERS OF WHEELCHAIRS

A research was carried out on the modification in the design of a bus for public transport in rural areas for better accessibility to users of wheelchairs. After an introduction, chapter II studies the needs of wheelchair users; chapter III discusses the bus companies; chapter IV presents a morphologic scheme and the package of research requirements; chapter V gives the existing provisions for adaptation of public transport to wheelchair users; chapter VI presents some new ideas for such an adaptation; chapters VII and VIII outline the first selection in solutions namely the place of the wheelchair in the bus; chapter IX provides some additional information on the standard bus; chapter X presents a morphologic scheme and the package of technical requirements; chapter XI discusses ideas of a lift equipment; chapters XII and XIII present the selection and technical design of such a lift equipment and chapter XIV evaluates the study.
