THE ANTILOCKING SYSTEM AND ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE

DAS ANTI-BLOCKIER-SYSTEM UND DIE RECHTSPFLEGE

The author investigates the advantages and drawbacks of the antilocking system compared with braking systems used hitherto. After a description of the functions and the technical operation of the antilocking braking system, it is established that its inclusion in vehicles of all types is to be welcomed from the safety point of view. Its considerable advantage for vehicle safety however, for the reasons indicated acts as a drawback for legal checking and administration of justice. The effects on the administration of justice brought about by the successive introduction of the antilocking braking system can however be eliminated by the compulsory installation of short distance and short term tachographs, the structure, function and significance of which are described.
