Modeling and Evaluation of Thermal Environment in Railway Vehicles by Simulation
In this study, simulation of the thermal environment in the cabin of a train in commercial operation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and human thermal models was conducted to achieve a comfortable thermal environment in the design phase. Psychological response under the environment was predicted as well, and the precision of reproduction and predictability were verified. As a result, it was confirmed that the thermal environment could be simulated and that thermal sensation under such an environment could be predicted with practical accuracy.
