Big Progress in Big Data
The term "big data" is increasingly used to describe large and complex data sets that require tools beyond traditional data-processing applications to analyze. The myriad of sources from which data can be collected has led to an exponential growth in the amount of data available to the parking industry. This article presents an overview of big data and examines its current and future impact on the parking industry. In particular, it details four key concepts critical to the discussion of big data---key performance metrics; data warehousing; analytics and business intelligence; and data science.
