Advanced Design of Motorcycle Approaching Indication

The Motorcycle Approaching Indication (MAI) using the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication Systems (V2V) whose basic function Honda reported in ITS World Congress 2012 was tested in DRIVE C2X project. MAI has some technical issues for public road environments to detect the target motorcycles. MAI needs to define the motorcycle detection area which is around the subject vehicle. The authors describe the issues, suggest the improved algorithm and test results which MAI can use in the public road environment.
