Wireless Power Charging Techniques and ITS Technology for the Practical Operation of the LED Sign Board EV
Eco-friendly vehicles started with hybrid cars that appeared in the 1990s, and then electric vehicles (EVs) came onto the market in recent years. Under these circumstances, the authors' company focuses on EV-trucks and R&D on them is currently underway. In 2013, we made the world's first prototype of a signboard electric vehicle for road maintenance work. The characteristics of this EV are based on truck, it runs more than 100 km with fully charging, and it uses wireless battery charging technology. Additionally, in order to ensure safety of charging and to prevent malfunctions, the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technology is introduced. The vehicle was completed in 2013 and practical use on the road is about to begin.
