Evaluation of Operating Magnetic-Field Sensors in Dynamic Parking Lot Vacancy Information System for Expressway Rest Areas
Those at Central Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. (NEXCO Central), taking their efforts seriously to shape future road traffic systems that employ the most advanced technology available in Japan on the Shin (New)-Tomei Expressway, have been carrying out studies about new services for providing information. Here, in the underlying paper, out of these services for providing information, the authors are delivering a report on the contents of implementing technological developments on the Shin-Tomei Expressway and the resulting operational situation regarding the improved accuracy of vehicle-count detection of the Dynamic Parking Lot Vacancy Information System, which is installed in a rest area in order to achieve even further enhancement of safety and comfortable use.
