A Meta-Analysis of Cognitive Screening Tools for Drivers Aged 80 and Over

This report includes a literature review of the effects of aging on driving and cognitive screening tools to assess older drivers. Screening tools selected for meta-analysis included Maze Task, Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test, Letter Cancellation Tests, Traffic Sign Recognition, Charron Test, and Wechsler Digit Symbol Substitution Test. The objective of this analysis was to aid in the selection of cognitive screening tools for use in Ontario, Canada, during group education sessions for drivers aged 80 and over.
