DART 1 and Newmarket Rail Station redevelopment by ONTRACK and Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is part of the rail stations upgrade associated with the Developing Auckland’s Rail Transport (DART) Network $600million upgrade project by ONTRACK. The brief was to enable more frequent and reliable train services to what will be Auckland’s second busiest train station after Britomart and provide to a landmark station. This presentation will offer insight into the design, and construction of the Newmarket Rail Station and DART 1. This will include a description of the design process, issues and constraints and a description of the design developed by Opus. It will demonstrate the integrated development processes and challenges from design through construction.
