Risk management maturity

This paper takes some ideas on maturity levels of risk management from the water utilities sector and applies them to rail. 5 levels of risk management maturity are defined With eight attributes considered. One of these attributes relates to documentation and reporting. This paper explores how documentation of risk in the rail industry relates to the five levels of risk management maturity and raises some issues concerning the way risk registers are commonly used in safety management across industry in general.
