Color Universal HMI Designing for Driving Support Systems
Camera based driving support systems which overlay graphical information such as guiding-lines indicating the steering direction and the obstacle icons detected by ultrasonic sensors on the camera image are emerging. The display provides drivers various kinds of colored information by using not only the umber color like the warning indicators but also multiple tone. Recently human-machine-interface (HMI) color design that can be accepted universally has become important. In this paper, a color universal design approach for the HMI of the driving support system (DSS) is introduced.
