Optimization Scheduling of Elevators Based on Passenger Behavior

Behavioral operations management is a cutting-edge science with a broad development prospect. But in the field of elevator dispatching, there's little consideration of passengers' behavior habits. To satisfy the demand of passengers and achieve the maximum effectiveness of elevators, this paper takes full consideration of the factors selected by passengers and analyzes the characteristics of rush hour to study the more than one elevators scheduling problem. First, take the passengers' habits as the starting point and establish a mathematic model; second, use the two-phase approach algorithm, namely, composite dispatching rules and particle swarm optimization algorithm to optimize elevator partition scheduling schemes; then, take the numerical simulation of an actual case and use MATLAB to program the solution process intelligently. Finally, compare the results. The analysis verifies the necessity and effectiveness of considering passengers' behavior.
