Limit Load Analysis of Subsea Pipeline Structural Component
In a subsea engineering project, the pipeline structural component known as a bulkhead helps to limit loads and is an important consideration when preparing analytical design based on pressure vessel standards. The usual procedure and method of calculation for limit load is introduced with finite element software. Three kinds of load applications are considered. In each case, the displacement-load curve of location with the maximum strain is obtained under different load applications based on when the limit bending moment occurs and tension load is reached. The results prove the effectiveness and suitability for subsea pipeline component and the process and method can be spread to the design and evaluation of similar pipeline structures.
