C-S Transport-Optimisation – A Solution for Web-based Trip Optimization Basing on OpenStreetMap
Currently, there are various solutions available for web-based optimal routing. Each of these web-based solutions takes a given set of intermediate stopovers as it is and does not intend to optimize the sequence, whose aim should be to reduce the total driving time or total path length. The author develops a solution to achieve a new web based trip optimisation tool. This is based on the OpenStreetMap geographic information system (GIS) information database which has been extended with existing routing functionality. Touring optimisation, especially for SME clients, who do not have the need for offline software solutions, are primarily provided by the k-nearestneighbourhood search in addition to the development state of the art optimisation algorithms.
