MDP-CTP: Three Years of Change

Since the adoption of Calgary's Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and Calgary Transportation Plan (CTP) in 2009, land use planners and transportation engineers are working together to develop a program to monitor progress toward achieving the plans' goals and objectives. This program reflects the on-going collaborative and coordinated process already taken by the Transportation and Planning, Development and Assessment (PDA) Departments through the development of the integrated land use and mobility plan for Calgary, the process called Plan It Calgary. Over the last three years, the work has been done on identifying the indicators and their methodologies, developing new methods for data collection using new technologies, developing new guidelines and aligning with City plans. This paper will describe some of the processes and work done so far. (A) For the covering abstract of this conference see ITRD record number 201309RT334E.
