CoVeL: A Cooperative Road Solution Based on EGNOS to Improve Road Mobility
The CoVeL project aims to develop a Lane Positioning Assistant—an in-vehicle system which will enable lane-level positioning. CoVeL will bring benefits for advanced traffic management task like lane-level traffic management and lane-level navigation especially in urban areas. In this paper, the outcomes of the project are presented through the evaluation of specific real-world use-cases performed in the validation phase of the project. It is shown that the integrated system prototype is able to successfully complete all use cases. Furthermore, conclusions about the observed behavior, e.g. achieved communication range for vehicle-to-vehicle communication are given.
